Wellington Shield was founded in 2000 to provide a technical support service to those financial advisors and intermediaries having an international dimension to their client portfolios.
Our rationale back then as it remains today is that whilst in an advisors home (or domestic) market there is normally a wealth of technical information available, once ‘cross-border’ issues are introduced such as with expatriate and/or non-domiciled clients, then most advisors will find difficulty in obtaining clarity on how best to structure that clients assets.
Eventually many will resort to appointing one of the ‘Big Four’ accountancy firms at significant expense to themselves or the client.
